Depilatory
Depilatory is a type of chemical shaving which uses a liquid mixture to
remove hair from the root. The active
ingredient in most depilatories is calcium thioglycolate.It works by breaking down the bonds in the keratin of the hair. This leaves the hair in a weak state allowing it to be scrapped off easily. It has acidic properties.
The skin remains hair free for up to 10 days. It can cause a skin reaction redness and irritation. This because the skin is also rich in keratin and so the mixture may also react with the skin leaving in irritated and sore or workse. So only leave on for the recommended time or less and also use depilatories specifically made for the face. The ones made for legs and underarms may be far too strong. Electrical Epilators
This is a mechanical where device where two discs are used to pull the hair by as the two blades rotate they come together, trapping and pulling the hair out from the root, similar to a tweezer effect. This results in resulting in slower regrowth and smoother skin. The pulling action may seem painful the first time it is experience however subsequent uses will seem less painful. This methods do not destroy the hair follicle or prevent regrowth permanently. They can be battery, or mains operated.
Epilators are made my most of the established brands such as Remington, Braun and Philips.

Electrolysis
This method is best suited to small areas of the skin. Women normally get this done for the like eyebrowsupper lip,and chin area. This is a professional treatment that requires series of sessions over time. This method requires the techician to have training and skill to do the job without causing further damage to the skin. A small section of hair is treated at each session.
